Product Description
Shure ADX2/N8C=-G57 Digital Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter with Nexadyne 8/C Cardioid Capsule (G57: 470 to 608 + 614 to 616 MHz)
Overview
The Shure ADX2/8C is a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with Axient Digital series receivers. It is ShowLink-enabled for automatic interference avoidance and real-time remote control of parameters.
The ADX2/8CB comes equipped with a Nexadyne 8/C dynamic cardioid capsule featuring an innovative Revonic dual-transducer design that uses two separate, but interdependent sets of diaphragms, voice coils, and magnets. This unique technology gives this dynamic mic a condenser-like clarity with a crisp, yet natural high-end and plenty of detail—allowing vocalists to worry less about mic technique and instead focus on delivering powerful performances. The cardioid polar pattern reduces off-axis pick up, for less bleed from other sources and fewer feedback issues.
The transmitter operates in an ultrawide 140 MHz UHF bandwidth. It provides up to 9 hours of operation on an SB920A rechargeable battery, with a transmission range up to 330' and a selectable 2/10/40mW RF output power. With a durable, moisture-resistant, lightweight aluminum case, the ADX2/8CB transmitter delivers pristine audio quality, mission-critical RF performance, AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission, and advanced rechargeability options, making it ideal for high-profile sound-reinforcement applications.
ShowLink Enabled for Interference Avoidance & Parameter Control
- ShowLink technology allows the ADX2 transmitter to execute an automatic, synchronized frequency change in a matter of milliseconds, ensuring clean, uninterrupted transmission, even in the most challenging RF environments.
- You can also make instantaneous remote adjustments to your ADX2 transmitter settings (RF output, gain, mute, and more) when it is difficult or impossible to access the transmitter.
Interchangeable Design with Nexadyne 8/C Cardioid Revonic Capsule
- Shure's Nexadyne Revonic system is an innovative dynamic microphone design that uses two matched dynamic transducers, working in conjunction, to provide more opportunity for both greater sound quality and the rejection of unwanted signal.
- Wiring the transducers out-of-phase cancels mechanical vibration, so self-noise is actively zeroed out. This makes traditional pneumatic shockmounts unnecessary, and allows the transducers to be optimized for acoustic performance.
- Vocal performers will experience natural and vivid clarity when performing—enabled by a cartridge design that optimizes signal output acoustically, producing more of the desired sound source and less environmental and handling noise.
- Engineers will receive stronger and clearer output, resulting in fewer EQ corrections that are often necessary with other mics to retain vocal clarity within the mix.
- The cardioid polar pattern provides focused, yet forgiving, audio capture centered on the performer in front of the mic—reducing bleed from other sources and on-stage monitors for clearer sound.
- The interchangeable capsule design allows you to replace the Nexadyne 8/C capsule with a Shure capsule that’s ideal for your application and simply screw it onto the transmitter—including the Nexadyne 8/S (supercardioid), KSM8, KSM9, SM58, Beta 58A, Beta 87A, and Beta 87C capsules.
User-Friendly Features in a Rugged Housing
- The unit quickly syncs with a wireless receiver via infrared at the touch of a button.
- Automatic Gain adjusts the mic input level for you.
- The power button conveniently doubles as mute switch, while preserving RF lock.
- Frequency and power lockout functions prevent accidental or unauthorized changes during events.
- A backlit LCD with easy-to-navigate menu and controls lets you quickly access frequency, group, and channel settings, along with mute and lock status, RF output, and remaining battery life.
- Offset function lets you balance mic levels when assigning multiple transmitters to a single receiver slot. Adjustment range: -12 to +21 dB.
- 2/10/40mW selectable RF output power allows you to increase either the transmitter's range or the number of mics operating simultaneously.
- Two transmission modes: Standard for optimal coverage and High-Density for maximum system channel count and robust coverage.
