Specifications:
1.1. Network Protocol Converter DHV
1.1.1. General Description
- The Ethernet node shall be a microprocessor based lighting control distribution system specifically designed and constructed for the distribution of control and informational signals of theatrical and television dimming systems.
- The operating program shall be stored in an internal non‑volatile read‑only memory. Off‑line configuration data storage shall be via the ColorNet network to a personal computing device and saved on local storage media.
- The Ethernet node shall be capable of distributing DMX512, Video and Hand Held Remote.
1.1.2. Physical
- The Ethernet node shall mount into a standard 19” EIA equipment rack. The node shall be no deeper than 8.5”, shall not exceed 1 rack space (1.75”) in height, nor weigh more than 8 lbs.
- The node shall be made of heavy‑gauge sheet metal finished in black with white graphics.
1.1.3. Electrical
- The external power supply shall be capable of operating from 100V to 240V AC 50 - 60 Hz.
- All DMX512 drivers shall be optically isolated to prevent damage to sensitive electronics from high voltage shorts and to prevent ground loops.
1.1.4. Mechanical
The Ethernet node shall provide, but not be limited to, the following features:
A. Two RJ-45 connectors and one 15 pin D-sub provide Ethernet connections.
- Two high-density 15 pin D-sub connectors provide video connections.
- Three 5 pin female XLR connectors for DMX512 out and three 5 pin male XLR connectors for DMX512 in.
- One 6 pin XLR connector for local HHR input. One 6 pin terminal strip for remote wiring of HHR connector plates.
- One 3 pin Mini D-sub power supply input.
- One DC power indicator LED.
- Six DMX512 input and output LED’s.
- Six ColorNet status LED’s.
- Seven momentary pushbuttons.
1.1.5. Operational
A. The Ethernet node shall provide both a 100Base-TX and a 10Base-T Ethernet port. RJ-45 connectors, wired in configuration B, provide the connecting means to external networks. Both ports may be used simultaneously, one for use with i Series dimmer racks and one for ColorNet II communications. In addition, a 10Mbit AUI port is provided on a female 15 pin D-sub connector. The AUI port can be used as a means to connect to other Ethernet media, such as 10Base2 (Thinnet).
- The Ethernet node shall be capable of inputting and outputting 3 DMX512 signals simultaneously. Each physical port can be mapped via software to any of 256 DMX512 universes. The input universes will be reproduced on any Ethernet node DMX512 output port that is assigned to the same DMX512 universe.
- The Ethernet node shall be capable of controlling two VGA video monitors. Each monitor can display local configuration and status screens, reproduce in real time Innovator video screens or display iseries dimmer rack status screens. Display selection can be accomplished locally via the seven pushbuttons provided on the node’s front panel. Remote control of the node is accomplished through the use of a telnet session connected to the network or from an Innovator control console.
- The Ethernet node shall be capable of transporting control information between an Innovator and Innovator HHR via the Ethernet connection. In systems with multiple Innovator consoles and HHR’s, a patching feature is used to negotiate control authority.
Warranty
A complete two (2) year warranty covering all parts and labor shall be provided for the Network Protocol Converter. All software updates to the console released during the warranty period of the console shall be available to the owner free of charge.
It shall be required of the owner that a warranty registration card be completed and sent to the manufacturer in order to validate the warranty.
