DESCRIPTION The Luma-Net® Hub is specifically developed as a gateway for message routing between a maximum of eight Luma-Net sub-networks. This signal processing device allows star configuration wiring schemes to be utilized in Luma-Net networks. It requires an external power supply. FEATURES • Supports the interconnection between a maximum of 8 Luma-Net sub-networks • Detects messages from an initiating Luma-Net sub-network • Broadcasts an incoming message from one sub-network to the other 7 Luma-Net sub-networks • Supports fault isolation in version 1.02 or earlier • Detects and records framing errors (disabled on all 8 ports in version 1.03) • Detects and records break errors on ports 1-7 (disabled on all 8 ports in version 1.03) • Maintains error records for each sub- network port and disables the offending sub-network port responsible for break or repeated framing errors (disabled on all 8 ports in version 1.03) FEATURES • Provides support for manually clearing all sub-network error records • Provides support for manually disabling individual sub-network ports • Provide a fault indicator for each Luma-Net sub-network • Fits in a standard 4-gang back box (not provided by Leviton) • 8.25” x 4.5” stainless steel cover plate for clean appearance APPLICATION NOTE • Port 8 should always be used to uplink data to NPC(s), dimmer(s) or relay rack(s) • Luma-Net hubs should not be daisy-chained more than two (2) units and should never cascade • Avoid using port 8 for control stations because of MSTP error checking limits on Port 8 • Ports are electrically isolated and allow 2,000 feet of Luma-Net per port • Multiple hubs are likely to be less stable unless a network protocol converter is placed between them • Requires 64mA at 24VDC for operation, but does not supply power to connected devices
