Colortran Remembrance 8 Sliders 1 Master Fader Analog Wall Control Station, RMB81-88, CTP-8-1088
The Leviton Remembrance RMB81-88 is a discontinued analog lighting control station with eight channel faders and a master fader.
As part of the NSI/Leviton Remembrance series, it was designed for theatrical and architectural lighting systems that used the DMX512 communication protocol.
The CTP-8-1088 featured an On/Off switch, a master slider, and eight additional sliders to control individual lighting channels. It sets and recalls lighting scenes with programmable fade times when connected to compatible dimmer racks, such as the Leviton/NSI "i Series".
Key features of the RMB81-88:
- Manual and preset modes: Besides manual control with faders, the station included programmable buttons. These buttons stored and recalled up to eight lighting scenes with adjustable fade times.
- User interface: Each unit featured a user interface with:
- Eight individual channel faders and one master fader
- An on/off switch with an LED indicator
- Preset buttons with integral green LEDs
- A separate "Off" button with a bi-colored LED
- System integration: The RMB81-88 was designed to be used with other Remembrance series products, such as the i Series or i Series Quad dimmer racks. Multiple stations could be wired to operate independently or as a coordinated group.
- Status and availability: Leviton discontinued the Remembrance series in 2017. At that time, the company had a limited supply of new stock, but the products were no longer being manufactured.
Installation and wiring
Installation of the RMB81-88 should be handled by a qualified electrician, and involved these steps:
- Mounting: The station was designed to be mounted in a standard NEMA 8-gang, 3.5-inch deep back box.
- Power: It required a 10VAC transformer.
- DMX control: It connected to an i Series or i Series Quad dimmer rack using a Belden 9829 cable for DMX signal and an Alpha 1898/12 cable for the presets.
