Are you thinking about moving over to an ETC LED lighting fixture for energy savings and better light output? There are a few different options. You can either "retrofit" an existing lighting fixture, update your light engine body to LED and reuse your current shutter barrel or purchase a brand new lighting fixture. We will be discussing the first two options here.
RETROFIT OPTIONS
ETC S4WRDT120 Source 4WRD II-White Light Only
If you already have a traditional ETC Source 4 fixture and are looking to convert to LED with "white light only," this may be the way to go. The current retrofit model is the ETC S4WRDT120 Source 4WRD II - Retrofit Kit 120v. This unit is capable of line voltage dimming or DMX control. This provides light output equivalent to an incandescent lamp (or better) and works really well. ETC S4WRDT120 Source 4WRD II - Retrofit Kit 120v (Also available in the ETC S4WRDG120 Source 4WRD II Gallery option and the ETC S4WRDDG120 Source 4WRD II Daylight Gallery option)
For this type of retrofit, you would use your existing ETC Source Four Lighting Fixture and just replace the back lamp assembly and install the new LED lamp assembly. This unit provides sharp edges for the light output and works very well. This only allows for the color of white. No other colors are available. (Of course, you can always use theatrical gel sheets to change your color output!)
ETC S4WRDC Source 4WRD Color-Colors of LED Light
If you would like the retrofit option, but with COLOR, the ETC S4WRDC Source 4WRD Color - Retrofit Kit 120v may work for you. This unit MUST use DMX control and comes with the required cables. This retrofit provides an RGBA (Lime is also in the mix) LED lamp to produce colors. ETC S4WRDC Source 4WRD Color - Retrofit Kit 120v
As above, you would use your existing ETC Source Four Lighting Fixture and just replace the back lamp assembly and install the new LED lamp assembly. This unit provides softer edges for the light output and we recommend the use of a diffusion gel (provided with kit) to be used at all times. This unit allows for a multitude of colors.
This retrofit provides color, but will NOT provide hard focus lines and is not recommended for use with gobos at all.
NEW LED LIGHT ENGINE OPTIONS
You have several options when you go with a new LED based lighting fixture.
If you have existing ETC Source Four fixtures, you can "harvest" the barrel assembly and/or the lens tubes to use with a new LED based light engine and save money.
The various new LED based light engines include the following:
ETC ColorSource Spot Light Engine - Millions of colors and good output
The ETC ColorSource Spot will provide you with an excellent LED based lighting fixture with a four color LED system that is capable of around a million colors.
You would receive a new light engine, but re-use your existing ETC Source Four barrel and lens tube (or they can be purchased separately). The light output edges are amazing and the lighting fixture can be used in all applications. This is equal to around a 575 watt traditional fixture.
The ETC ColorSource Spot uses a DMX control signal to change color and intensity. More information can be found here: ETC ColorSource Spot. This unit will produce 6,932 Lumens and has the fewest colors.
ETC Source Four LED-Series 1 Tungsten HD Light Engine - Seven Color LED Array - More color capability
The ETC S4LEDT Source Four LED Series 1 Tungsten HD light engine will provide you with an excellent LED based lighting fixture with a seven color LED system that is capable of more than a million colors.
You would receive a new light engine, but use your existing ETC Source Four barrel and lens tube (or they can be purchased separately). The edges are amazing and the lighting fixture can be used in all applications. This is equal to around a 575 watt traditional fixture.
The ETC SL4LEDT Source Four LED Series 1 Tungsten HD light engine uses a DMX control signal to change color and intensity. More information can be found here: ETC S4LED (Tungsten 1 option). This will produce 6,113 lumens and has more colors than the ColorSource Spot.
ETC Source Four LED-Series 2 Tungsten HD Light Engine - Seven Color LED Array and more light output!-More color capability
The ETC S4LEDT Source Four LED Series 2 Tungsten HD light engine will provide you with an excellent LED based lighting fixture with a seven color LED system that is capable of more than a million colors and a higher light output.
You would receive a new light engine, but use your existing ETC Source Four barrel and lens tube (or they can be purchased separately). The edges are amazing and the lighting fixture can be used in all applications. This is equal to around a 750 watt traditional fixture.
The ETC SL4LEDT Source Four LED Series 2 Tungsten HD light engine uses a DMX control signal to change color and intensity. More information can be found here: ETC S4LED (Tungsten 2 option). This will produce 11,512 lumens and has the highest light output and array of colors.
